Padmasambhava: Senge Dradog.

Thangka. Tibet, 18./19. Jh. Handgemalt auf Leinwand, 49 x 35 cm. Gefasst in chinesische Seiden und indischen Stoff, ca. 104 x 59 cm. Teil einer Reihe von insgesamt acht Thangka, die die acht Formen des Padmasambhava zeigen. Bitte sehen Sie auch die vorherige Katalognummer für einen Thangka aus der gleichen Serie.

Der Siddha in seiner blauen, zornvollen Emanation als „Das Brüllen des Löwen“. Seine Hände zeigen Drohgesten. Aufrecht auf Leichnam stehend. Schädelkrone, Schmuck eines Mahasiddhas und ein Tigerfell tragend. Auf dem Rücken das Fell eines Löwen, dessen Kopf über dem flammenden Haar Senge Drdogs aufragt.

Unterhalb die zwei Arhats Kanakavatsa, eine Juwelenschnur haltend, und Kanakabharadvaja.

Rückseitig tibetische Schriftzeichen und Stoffaufnäher mit Mantra.

Part of a series of a total of eight thangkas showing the eight forms of the Padmasambhava. Please see the previous catalog number for another thangka from the same series.

The famous Siddha in his blue, wrathful emanation as “The Lion’s Roar”. His hands showing threatening gestures. Standing upright on a corpse. Wearing a skull crown, jewelry of a Mahasiddha, and a tiger skin, as well as a lion’s skin on his back. The lion head can be seen above the flaming hair.

Below the two Arhats Kanakavatsa, holding a chain with jewelries, and Kanakabharadvaja.

Backside with Tibetan syllables and fabric patch with a written mantra.

Signs of age.
