Padmasambhava: Pema Gyalpo.

Thangka. Tibet, 18./19. Jh. Handgemalt auf Leinwand, 49 x 35 cm. Gefasst in chinesische Seiden und indischen Stoff, ca. 109 x 59 cm. Der Siddha in seiner Emanation als „Lotos König“. Seine rechte Hand hält einen damaru, seine linke eine Schale. In rajalila-asana auf einem Lotosthron sitzend. Lange Gewänder und Haarschmuck tragend.

Unterhalb die zwei Arhats Nagasena, ein Lebenswassergefäß und einen Stab haltend, und Abhedya, einen Stupa haltend. Zwischen ihnen ihr Begleiter Upasaka Dharmatala, einen Fliegenwedel haltend und mit einem Tiger zu seiner Seite vor einem Bücherregal sitzend.

Rückseitig tibetische Schriftzeichen und Stoffaufnäher mit Mantra.

The famous Siddha in his emanation as “The Lotus King”. His hands holding a damaru and a bowl. Seated in rajalila-asana on a lotus throne. Wearing long, adorned robes and a crown.

Below the two Arhats Nagasena, holding a vase of long life, and Abhedya, holding a stupa. Between them their attendant Upsaka Dharmatala, holding a fly whisk and seated in front of a bookshelf with a tiger to his side.

Backside with Tibetan syllables and fabric patch with a written mantra.
